Dunchurch park hotel, near Rugby, Warwickshire provided the stunning backdrop for Lucy and Toms gorgeous wedding. They found me through Facebook ( very modern age lol ) the summer before their big day, and we quickly arranged to meet up for a coffee / chat about their upcoming plans. We immediately hit it off, and spent the next couple of hours non stop laughing. These guys are so funny, and an absolute pleasure to be around, I knew that photographing their wedding would be an absolute dream. Fast forward to a few weeks before the wedding, and we met up again to do a pre wedding photo shoot ( something I recommend my couples to do )
Despite these guys telling me that they didn't feel natural in front of the camera, they very soon relaxed and we managed to get some awesome photos of them, it helps when you spend the entire session laughing till your stomach hurts!!!
It soon was time for the big day. Lucy and Toms venue was simply stunning, there were no bad angles. I met up with Tom first who was already dressed and ready to go. He was hanging out with his groomsmen and beginning to greet some of the guests are they began to arrive. I had a quick few moments with the bridal party as they made their final preparations, Lucy looked stunning in her dress, and I was able to get a few shots as she made her way down to the main hall for the ceremony. There was a beautiful staircase with gorgeous light spilling in from a large window which allowed for the opportunity to get some photos of the bride. I love these moments immediately prior to the ceremony, there is an energetic mix of nerves and excitement about marrying your best friend which is infectious.
The ceremony was lovely, with some beautifully kind speeches by Lucy and Toms closest friends/family, and without surprise, plenty of laughter. After the ceremony, we all ventured outside for the confetti run. I love photographing this part of the celebration as it often creates great shots. There was no exception with this wedding, especially as Tom got pelted in the face with a big bundle of rice paper - thankfully he was unharmed lol.
The evening celebrations were just as fun filled with laughter as the rest of the day, my favourite moment being the impromptu limbo dance competition, things got serious hahahah, at 6ft 5' i'm afraid to say, my success was limited hahahah.
All in all, this was such a great wedding, and I've honestly not laughed so much. Lucy and Tom are such a great couple, and it may sound cliché, but they really are made for each other. I really wish them every happiness in the rest of their lives together.
